Are all of your products Fairtrade Certified?

Most of the products we stock carry certifications including Fairtrade, Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand, Global Organic Textiles Standard (GOTS), Indigenous Art Code, B Corporation, and World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO). You can read more about these certifications here.

However in the Fair Trade world, many producers are small, grassroots maker communities. The process of becoming officially Fairtrade Certified can be costly and it is often not financially accessible for these very small organisations. The Fair Trader takes this barrier into consideration when deciding to stock products, and where the Fairtrade Certification is not present, we ensure the supplier incorporates the 10 Principles of Fair Trade into their business practices.

What materials are your products made from?

We stock hundreds of different products and almost all of them are made from natural or recycled materials.

Returns & Shipping

What is your returns policy?

Do you accept returns for sale items?

Unfortunately we don't accept returns for reduced items.

What items are exempt from being returned?

We cannot accept returns for food, earrings, lip balm, Gift Cards or sale items.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Our team will generally ship your order within 2 business days of purchase.

During Christmas and Sale Periods it might take a little longer to process your order. Our small team appreciates your patience during these busier times.

We advise customers to allow 3-8 business days from dispatch to Australian metropolitan areas. Delivery times to regional areas may vary.

Please refer to Australia Post for current information about delivery times within Australia and to New Zealand.

Express Post through Australia Post is the fastest way to receive your parcel. However please note that next day delivery is currently not guaranteed. Visit the Australia Post website for updates on Express Delivery Times.

What do I do if I received a defective order?

If the item(s) you receive are damaged or faulty, please email thefairtrader@outlook.com and our team will assess where to go next.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer, contact us immediately.

Do you ship internationally?

At this point in time we only ship within Australia and to New Zealand.

An item I want is listed as 'Pick Up Only' however I don't live nearby. Can I still order it?

Yes! Please shoot through an email to thefairtrader@outlook.com with your postage address and we will send you a Shipping Quote. If you decide to proceed with the order, we will invoice you with the cost of shipping.

Do you offer Click & Collect?

Yes, we offer free In Store Pick Up at our Croydon South store during store open hours. Simply select 'Pick Up at Croydon South' at checkout.

Make sure you check our current Open Hours and bring your receipt or ID with you when you come to collect your order.

Gift Vouchers

Do you sell Gift Vouchers?

Yes! You can purchase The Fair Trader Gift Vouchers here.

Can Digital Gift Cards be used in store?

Yes, you can use your Digital Gift Card at our physical shop in Croydon South. Simply present the Gift Card on your phone or print it out.

I ordered a Digital Gift Card but it hasn't been emailed to me. What do I do?

Our Digital Gift Cards are sent automatically by email when you order them, and they are usually received without a problem.

Extremely occasionally an error will occur and the Gift Card doesn't go through. We have noticed this is usually when the Gift Card is being sent to an email address that ends in ".org" or a variation of this. To prevent this error from occurring, we recommend you provide us with an email address that doesn't end in ".org" when ordering Gift Cards.

If you ordered a Gift Card but have not received it, please check your Junk or Spam folder first. If you still can't find it, email fairtraderteam@gmail.com with your Order Number and one of our team members will try to rectify the issue as soon as possible.
