O My Bag is serious about making a positive difference in the world, by connecting producers in small communities to the global market, and creating fair job opportunities. 

MOST leather used in fashion is fast tracked using a chemical tanning process that is harmful for the leather workers health, and the environment. O My Bag uses the slower more costly process of eco vegetable tanning. O My Bag now uses 100% of this eco-leather to create their leather products. 

O My Bag also financially supports 5 Brickfield Schools. These are schools that provide education for the migratory families of brick makers in India. There are very few education providers for these economically challenged families and their children. 

The Drew Bum Bag is made in the STC Factory, a family owned business based in Kolkata, India. O My Bag have been partnering with STC since 2015, and Ipshita is the name of the amazing woman who runs the O My Bag department. Her father founded the business, and Ipshita has been working there for seven years now.

About 500 artisans are employed at STC, and the company has a goal to “employ as many women as possible”. In an effort to increase the number of women on their team, STC works with local organisations to teach young women leather work skills, providing them with training and employment opportunities.

All workers at STC receive healthcare and social benefits, including retirement funds. The factory is SA8000 certified, which is a third party auditing process that ensures the workplace is safe and operates under fair conditions.
