I absolutely love Easter! The cosy autumn weather, the smell of fresh, home made hot cross buns wafting out of the oven, childhood memories of Easter bunny footprints and Easter egg hunts.
Every Easter my primary-school-teacher Mum tells a story about a prep boy she once taught. Mum had told the Easter story to her class and explained how the cross on hot cross buns is a symbol of Jesus and how he died. Later, as this particular boy happily ate a hot cross bun, melted butter oozing down his hands and chocolate all over his face, he exclaimed in wonder, "To think Jesus died on a hot cross bun!"
...sometimes Easter doesn't go quite as planned.
