How Fair Trade Jewellery Brings Hope to Women in Asia

Starfish began in 2006 as a small group of friends who could no longer simply walk by the women and girls they observed being exploited around Asia. None had a business or jewelry design background. What they shared was a desire to restore hope and bring freedom. They never imagined that today our jewelry brand would be loved by women all around the world who share the same vision.

If you’re looking for jewellery that goes beyond aesthetics and truly changes lives, you’ll want to know about the Starfish Project. This inspiring initiative is on a mission to restore hope to women in Asia who have been exploited, offering them a fresh start and the tools to build a better future.

Through their remarkable social enterprise, Starfish Project provides women with opportunities to develop real-world skills—think jewellery-making, management, accounting, graphic design and photography. It’s not just about a job; it’s about a career and a community. Their Holistic Care Programs cover everything from vocational training and healthcare to safe housing, counselling, and education grants for both the women and their children.

Offering Empowerment

Since starting out, Starfish Project has given employment to over 180 women and reached thousands more through community outreach. As a proud member of the Fair Trade Federation, every piece of jewellery is made ethically, with each purchase directly supporting the journey towards empowerment, family unity, and brighter futures for women and their families.

The jewellery itself is stunning—crafted with care, each piece tells a story of hope and transformation. When you choose to buy from Starfish Project, you’re not just adding a beautiful accessory to your collection; you’re helping to provide safe homes, valuable training, access to healthcare, and the chance for children to get an education. It’s a ripple effect of positive change that starts with a single purchase.

Discover the power of ethical shopping and join us in supporting the Starfish Project—where every piece of jewellery is a step towards freedom, dignity, and lasting change.
