Munupi Arts

Munupi Arts is a 100% Indigenous-owned and run Art Centre located on the Tiwi Islands, 80km north of Darwin. The organisation was established in 1990 when the Yikikini Women’s Centre and Pirlangimpi Pottery were incorporated under the name Munupi Arts and Crafts Association. The aim of Munupi is to give local artists an opportunity to proudly celebrate Tiwi culture through both traditional and contemporary mediums. For 25 years, Munupi Arts has been a vital meeting place for the Tiwi people of the Pirlangimpi community for employment, cultural pride and well being. The income earned through art royalties supports the artists, their families, and the entire community.
